I hope you noticed in McKnight’s introduction to the book (page xi) the importance he attached to reciting the Jesus Creed,

“… 40 Days Living the Jesus Creed can [not] be as effective as [it is] intended to be if we do not commit ourselves to reciting the Jesus Creed in the morning, in the evening, and anytime during the day that it comes to mind.”

I guess he wants us to go beyond merely reading about the “Jesus Creed.”
